Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of work target demands and compensation on the workload of employees at PT Home Center Indonesia (Informa), Arteri Pondok Indah Branch, both partially and simultaneously. This research employed a quantitative method with a causal associative approach. The population consisted of 41 employees, and a saturated sampling technique was applied, making all employees the research sample. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics. The results indicate that work target demands and compensation each have a positive and significant effect on employee workload. Simultaneously, both variables also have a positive and significant effect on workload, with an F-value of 28.361 and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R Square) was 0.599, indicating that 59.9% of the variation in employee workload is explained by work target demands and compensation, while the remaining 40.1% is influenced by other factors outside this study. In conclusion, higher work target demands and greater compensation tend to increase employee workload. Therefore, companies should establish realistic work targets and implement a fair compensation system to maintain an optimal workload.
