Peer Review Process

Jurnal Insan Berdaya: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Multidisiplin (JIB) employs a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and scholarly integrity of the manuscripts it publishes. The process is designed to provide constructive feedback to authors and to select articles that meet the journal's standards of academic excellence.

  1. Submission and Initial Screening: Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial office to ensure it meets the journal's scope and formatting requirements. Submissions that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors for revision or rejected at this stage.

  2. Editor Assignment: Submissions that pass the initial screening are assigned to an Associate Editor or handling editor with expertise in the subject area relevant to the manuscript. The editor evaluates the manuscript for its novelty, significance, and adherence to ethical guidelines.

  3. Peer Review: After passing the editor's assessment, manuscripts are sent to at least two independent experts in the field for double-blind peer review. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, academic reputation, and absence of conflicts of interest with the authors.

  4. Peer Review Evaluation: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on criteria such as originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field. They provide detailed feedback and recommendations to the editors, which may include suggestions for revisions or improvements.

  5. Decision Making: Based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations, the handling editor makes a decision regarding the manuscript:

    • Acceptance: The manuscript is accepted for publication without revisions or with minor revisions.
    • Revision Required: The manuscript requires revisions to address specific concerns raised by the reviewers.
    • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards and is not suitable for publication in its current form.
  6. Author Notification: Authors receive the decision along with reviewer comments, which are anonymized to maintain the integrity of the peer review process. If revisions are requested, authors are provided with clear guidelines and a timeline for resubmission.

  7. Final Decision: Upon receipt of revised manuscripts, the handling editor evaluates whether the revisions adequately address the reviewers' concerns. Final decisions are made based on the thorough evaluation of the revised manuscript.

JIB is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and timely peer review process to uphold the quality and credibility of published research. Authors are encouraged to respond promptly to reviewer comments and adhere to ethical guidelines throughout the publication process.
